Competing against over 3,000 students from elite institutions, including MIT, NITs, and IIITs, Team AIRAVATA — led by Akash and representing Sarala Birla University — secured the 2nd Prize at one of Eastern India’s most prestigious collegiate hackathons. The 36-hour non-stop competition produced a revolutionary Web3-based Health Crisis solution that impressed a panel of seasoned industry and academic judges.

This result didn’t just win a trophy. It put SBU on the hackathon map nationally.

Avishkaar Season 3 — National Rank 6, Top 10 Finalist (AITAM, Andhra Pradesh)

Out of 500+ competing teams in a 24-hour virtual hackathon lock-in, Team AIRAVAT cracked the Top 10 — landing at National Rank 6 — and earned a spot in the physical finals hosted at AITAM in Andhra Pradesh. Language barriers dissolved completely as technology became the shared language across different states and cultures. A genuinely cross-India competition experience.

AI-Powered FPGA Hackathon — National Rank 23 (NIT Jamshedpur)

This is perhaps the most remarkable result of all. With zero prior experience in VLSI design or FPGA programming — hardware domains that typically take engineers years to master — Akash’s team dove in, learned the fundamentals rapidly during the competition itself, executed a coherent solution, and secured National Rank 23, competing directly against teams from India’s top IITs and NITs. Adaptability, not specialization, was the winning edge.

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 & ISRO Bharatiya Antariksh Hackathon

Team Airavat successfully cleared SBU’s rigorous internal selection round for Smart India Hackathon 2025, working on a MedTech/BioTech problem statement defined by AICTE. Beyond competing, Akash served as Student Coordinator for SBU’s internal SIH 2025 round — managing, organizing, and mentoring over 300 students through the process. The team is now actively preparing for the Bharatiya Antariksh Hackathon, organized by ISRO.
